For new couples, the holidays can be a very awkward time of year. What types of gifts say too much and which say too little? Here to help clear the air, is Better’s relationship expert Whitney Casey, and author of Maxims of Manhood, Jeff Wilser.
Here are Wilser’s rules for meeting the parents.
If you haven’t yet hooked up, it’s too soon.
If you’re not yet exclusive, it’s too soon.
If there’s not a clear sign that there’s a future, it’s too soon.
What about gift giving? It’s difficult to judge whether you should give a gift, what gift you should give, or what the hell you should do? Wilser says if it’s a new relationship, giving an expensive, over the top gift is like putting a spreadsheet in front of them spelling out your life married with children. And as far as the card is concerned, XOXOXO is a no-no. Best to sign it conservatively with a “Happy Holidays” and let it go at that.

Just thought you might like to know that the CAPTCHA is not showing up on your Questions page, and consequently I can’t ask a question
