Dear Dumb Ass Dude:
Sometimes people just say the stupidest crap. I mean, “You can get any guy you want.” Really? And how in God’s name would you even know that?
First of all, since my profile is set to private, you can’t possibly know anything about me beyond what my profile picture looks like. How you even managed to find it is beyond me but that’s a whole ‘nother thing entirely. Thing is you have no frickin’ idea who or what I am let alone who or what I can ‘get.’
Secondly, “you can get any guy you want” is obviously a fallacy. If I could get any guy I wanted, Shemar Moore would be keeping me warm at night rather than 2 stuffed monkeys and 3 cats. It’s one of the stupidest statements on Earth. In fact, it’s right up there with “You’re great! I don’t understand why you’re still single.” or “I can’t believe men aren’t lining up at your door.” Please.
Next, let’s pretend just for a minute you know me. Being told I can get any guy I want is one of those backhanded compliments that makes me want to hurt someone. Hard. Yes, I’m sexy. Yes, I’m hot. Yes, I’m still single. So what? If you knew anything at all about women, about relationships, you’d know it takes a hella lot more than sexy and hot to find the right person. Unless, of course, you really are as stupid as you sound and you are implying a FWB relationship. Don’t even get me started.
I know. I know. You were just trying to be nice; make me feel good. News flash dumbass. It doesn’t work that way. The next time you want to find some random woman on MySpace to pay a compliment to, think twice. Take a course in Complementing 101 or, better yet, Women 101. In the meantime, go fuck yourself.

Wow, it would be nice to think we could get whoever we wanted but any person with a reasonable amount of sense would know that this isn’t the case.
No need to “try” to make someone feel better by saying that. To us, it just doesn’t make sense and can get frustrating.
It’s like asking someone who’s crying, “are you ok?”
Or telling someone who is angry and screaming to, “calm down.”

Haha!! This made me laugh! Every thing you wrote I’ve thought at some point! Yeah, if I could get any guy I want, Morris Chestnut wouldn’t be married to some other woman! He’d be mine, all mine! LOL
Those sayings you speak of are how I came up with my blog title. People kept telling me how great I am, and then they would follow by saying “So why are you single?” Irritates the hell outta me…it’s a stupid question really….

LOL. I’ve been getting so many of those from MySpace lately. I’m glad to know it’s not just me (and I don’t even have any pics that show my face). I’ve actually stopped opening all MySpace comments from people I don’t recognize. It’s sad, but some people are just really not that bright.
