How to Know if You’re Suffering From Dating Burnout
Interestingly enough, after just writing about needing a dating time out, I came across this video about dating burn out.
Signs of dating burnout
The signs of dating burnout include:
- Being cynical and jaded about dating
- Having first dating outfits
- Having dating questions
- Over dating
- Confuse dates’ names
Contributions of dating burnout
Online dating is the main contributor. You have access to more people which can lead to over dating. Exposed too much to dating and it becomes too much like interviewing.
Getting back in the game
- Take a dating sabbatical for at least a month.
- Take classes or go on a trip
- Feel more energized and more excited about dating
- You’ve revamped who you want to go out with.
What to do differently
- Know why you’re dating
- Be more selective
- Stop interviewing; start dating
- Give yourself an opportunity to know someone
Though this interview really discusses over dating as the cause of dating burn out, I don’t think that’s what my issue was. I did definitely feel cynical and jaded about dating. Not about men and relationships mind you, but about dating…about the process.
I will definitely agree that online dating leads sometimes leads to dating becoming more like interviewing which annoys the crap out of me.

I think I agree Gwen. I don’t know that it’s something I want to do.
Yeah Honey. I’m just not sure. Then again, it’s really a moot point for me since speed dating in MapDot is non-existent.
