Don’t touch me, don’t look at me
Don’t kiss me, don’t hold me.
I don’t want to cuddle, I don’t want sex
I want chocolate and comfy bed.
I feel bitchy, I feel fat
I want a glass of wine and a bath.
You are annoying and pissing me off
I want you to go away, I want you to stop.
I have a headache and cramps that could kill
Make one wrong move and kill you I will.
I don’t think you are funny, or that you are cute
I am in pain and wish you were too.
You are driving me crazy, just go away
I still love you, but it is a very bad day.
I don’t want to talk, I just want to sleep
If you insist on being a pain in my ass, just leave.
I want to bitch and moan and whine
You had best be ok with it, it is my time.
Lucky for you this will soon pass
It is just what you get when I PMS.

Kira, are you sure this is PMS, not endometriosis?

What does your doctor say about increasing or decreasing exercise, or about timing exercise to your monthly cycle?
Way back in the day, they told my (junior high age!) sister that it might persist until she became pregnant. And I understand that left untreated, this can impair fertility by leaving scars on the uterus.
PMS is a natural cycle - I know it affects many women severely, but not all. Next time you visit, ask the doctor about whether you are suffering more than should be expected. Make a list of questions, so that you don’t forget one. Ask about foods, exercise, ways to avoid the problem rather than just meds to mask the pain. But get the meds if they are recommended.
Peace, a hot water bottle for the tummy, a good epsom salts hot bath. And time for yourself.
Take care.

BradK, I think you are missing the lighthearted treatment of a somewhat crummy experience.
That being said, this is why I take Seasonale (only 4 periods a year) and usually still skip the week off. I have 1 period per year or less, and because I take hormonal b/c, it lasts 3 days and there are no cramps.
Hip, hip, hooray!

Carol- I’m with ya…except I could go for a back rub any ol’ time!
BradK- Thank you for the advice, but did it occur to you that this wasn’t written from personal experience? I wrote it based on the extreme sterotype given to PMS. I see the doctor regularly and have perfectly healthy cycles. Thank you for your concern
Honey- That sounds amazing…I think the doc and I should have a talk about my b/c! My periods are pretty managable but I still have a regular cycle every month…4 or less would be amazing!

That pretty well sums it up perfectly! When men don’t understand I usually respond with, “well, you’re still breathing.”
